Project Scope
Design an imaging phantom that can be used to assess the accuracy of the ViewRay software system in calculating deformation of moving tissues/organs in an MRI scanner, i.e., design a phantom with tissue-like MR and deformation properties capable of:
- Translating in 3 dimensions, deforming in 3 dimensions, and rotating continuously in time in a (binary) controllable, precisely known manner (e.g., centimeters of deformation on each axis, cubic centimeters of volume change, etc.),
- Functioning in an operating MRI device without damage to the MRI unit or the device itself, and
- Being imaged by ViewRay MRI device.
